{Christmas} Ornament Centerpiece

Monday, December 12, 2011

Well, another week has passed, and the bags on our Advent Calendar are starting to dwindle. Our favorite so far is Day 6, "Have a Dance Party!" I even downloaded some Justin Beiber Christmas songs to shake it to...talk about fully invested in the Advent Calendar!

I had some leftover foam piping from the Metallic Bow Wreaths, so I thought I'd whip up something with Target's Dollar Spot plastic ornaments. It was intended to be a wreath, but since we're in wreath overload, I turned it into a centerpiece.

I wanted to add some pink so it would coordinate with our other decor this year, so I started with a piece of garland (like I used on the Pink Magnolia Mantel). I clipped the strands and glued them to the form (in no particular pattern apparently!)

Then I just worked my way around, gluing ornaments directly to the form and each other. The wreath was an insatiable beast, and I continued to add ornaments until it was even and balanced. So there are easily 100 balls.

Once they had all set, I slipped it over a hurricane candle for our Dining Room centerpiece.

We won't have a Christmas Dinner at our house this year, but I need to find a reason to create a tablescape around this centerpiece!

Oooh so pretty, Cass! You are a crafting MACHINE these days! Come on over to my house and make me something? I was in bed most of the weekend (minus a couple of family holiday parties), still recovering from this bad head cold!
