Who Needs a Nap?

I was recently tagged for a Questionnaire post. My first instinct is always to shy away from that stuff, simply because I feel like my answers would be such a snooze-fest. But since I continued to be tagged by such sweet bloggers, I figured I'd better stop being a stick-in-the-mud, and just get to it! Instead of putting you to sleep by answering all 44 questions, I just picked a few from each blogger.

Jennifer at Dimples and Tangles

1. What was your first job?
I've had a job since I was 15, and thought I'd hit the jackpot with my first one....Corn Dog on a Stick at the mall food court! Hello all you can eat corn dogs and lemonade!

via

2. What is the one chore you would never do if you could get away with it?
Emptying the dishwasher. It seems like that sucker is always full! My son recently asked to start earning an allowance...guess what chore is on the top of his list?! #childlabor

3. Would you rather spend a weekend at the beach, in the mountains or at home alone with no agenda?
All of them sound pretty amazing right now, but nothing compares to sitting with my toes in the sand, and staring out at the vast blue ocean.

4. When you were a kid, what was your favorite television show?
I loved Silver Spoons until people told me I looked like Ricky Schroeder (I had an aversion to shampoo and brushes as a kid, so my dad made me cut it short). After that, I started watching Saved by the Bell. I had a thing for freckle-faced blond boys, I guess.

The photographer couldn't flip my collar down?!

5. Why did you start your blog?
I've said this before, but some of the newer folks probably don't know. My grandfather was one of my favorite people, and he always greeted me with a booming, "Hi, Sugarplum!" When he passed away, I started this blog as a creative outlet, and a distraction for my grief. I know he'd be my biggest supporter and first reader each morning.

xo poppoo!

6. Name one thing in your make-up bag you can not live without?
I literally can not fall asleep if I'm not wearing some kind of chapstick. And while I'm not much with make-up, I always have mascara on!

7. Will you still be my friend even though I made you suffer through this little game of tag?
The readers are the ones suffering, Carmel! But you know I love you more than my luggage.

Laurie at Traditionally Modern Design

8. What is your favorite room in your house?
My favorite room is always the one I just finished. I don't know if it's relief that it's finally done, or if each just gets better than the last. I guess if I had to choose, it'd be my kid's rooms because of the joy they get from having their own fun spaces.

9. Who is your favorite designer?
I love designers who aren't afraid to take chances, and make design fun. They give me the confidence to do what I love and not follow a set of rules. Some of my favorites are Erinn Valencich, Jenny Komenda, Jill Sorenson, Jamie Meares, Amber Lewis and Emily A. Clark. These gals also prove you don't have to spend a fortune to have a stylish room!

10. If you could take any type of class what would it be?
I recently got a big girl camera, and I'm dying to figure it out. A friend and I actually just bought a Groupon for a photography class, so hopefully I'll conquer all those settings.

via

11. Do you have a secret talent?
I can hang anything on the wall without a level or measure, and it's always straight and aligned. Much to Mr. Sugarplum's chagrin, my 'eyeballing' is never off. I can also wiggle my ears.

via

12. What celebrity do you think you'd hit it off with?
I think Robert Pattinson and I would get along peachy.

via

13. Calories don't count, what are you going to devour?
I'm a Southern girl, so it'd probably be chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes with cream gravy and fried okra. Followed up with a huge helping of fruit cobbler with ice cream.

via

14. If you could do one thing without any repercussions, what would it be?
See question 10.

15.  What have you said to get out of a speeding ticket?
I got pulled over when I was 17 months pregnant with Babygirl (not really, but I looked it). I was practically crowning panting and told the officer I had to pee....he couldn't wave me off fast enough.

I can't believe I'm showing this! Even my shirt can't contain the bulge.
I think that's enough humiliation for one day! Congratulations if you made it through awake. And thank you if you plan to return to this blog ever again!

  2. I *LOVE* the preggers pic! Your belly is just so cute...don't worry, not everyone has teeny tiny bellies when they're pregnant...if you looked 17 months pregnant, then I looked *18* and like I was trying my darndest to become a hippo )c: Not pretty, I assure you. Cankles aren't pretty on anyone. And I'm just going to assume that your "without repercussions" answer was really Rob Pattinson...that's what mine would be (c;

  3. I can relate to some of your answers. Especially the dishwasher one. I don't mind loading it, just like I don't mind loading the washing machine. It's the putting away of stuff that I loathe. And, I really want some chicken fried chicken with gravy now.

  4. Cassie - I may have to fight you for Robert Pattinson. He makes my heart pitter-patter. If only I was 20 years younger - Ha!

  5. Oh I loved it! Absolutely adore the meaning behind your blog name :) And, your pregnant pic is totally gorgeous!!! I used pregnancy to get out of a ticket once. I was 9 mths along and had just recieved THE WORST haircut imaginable. I was bawling as I was speeding home. Poor guy had no idea what was in for him! "Why are you crying ma'am.". Me - "Becuse I'm fat, my hair just got chopped off, and now I look ugly!!!". He practically ran away from the car :D

  14. Is it crazy that I still picture you as that cute little girl with the flipped up collar every time I talk with you?? And why did I know, too, that RP would make an appearance? xox

  17. Fun answers, Cassie! It's been my kids' job to empty the diswasher for a while now, even though they need stools to put things up high. In fact, it's full right now...guess those dishes will have to wait until school is out today! :) It's so good to read all of these little tidbits of information about you!

  24. My favorite is #5! I always wondered where the name of your blog came from and now that I know, it's the sweetest ever!

Ps...I can wiggle my ears too and your belly looks just as cute as you do in #15 at 17 months pregnant. :)

  27. Here's the thing...every time I read your blog I learn something new, take away a great tip, and/or laugh out loud. Today's post is no different. Thank you for the new Tumblr to scroll through (via the beach pic). And given most of your answers (esp. SBTB(ZACK!!), chicken fried ANYTHING, and hanging things without having to use a level), I truly believe that we could be friends in real life. No pressure though. ;) (I'll just back away quietly so you won't think I'm a stalker.)

  31. As a relatively new reader to your blog I loved getting to know you better, especially the inspiration for the name of the blog. I had to laugh when you said your kids rooms are your favs. I have always felt that as well and after recently moving my 13-year-old son announced that I was not allowed to do anything designer-y in his room because it was sooooooooooo embarrassing. So I guess my daughter's room is my fav!

  32. LOVED this. I must say that I share your secret skill of hanging anything. It has even caused an argument between the hubby and me. Always fun learning more about you.
