{Smitten} West Elm Basket Planter

Big purchases like this one and this one are exciting, and nauseating all at the same time. There is a lot of pressure when an item carries a big price tag. However, sometimes small purchases can make us just as happy. A recent stop at West Elm had me swooning over this basket (on sale, but I can't find it online!). I finally found the perfect planter for our Money Tree.

I love that it's not a traditional planter, and the warmth it adds to the room.

This tree is growing like crazy, with nothing but good light and a weekly watering. Here it is just three months ago. Wish I could say the same about my beloved Fig Friend, who currently has fewer than 10 leaves left.

What little splurges are you smitten with lately?

  1. I agree, smaller purchases are just as rewarding. The basket is perfect for your tree! Love it's look.

  2. Love that basket - I've been wanting a tree for my dining room- hmmmmmm- maybe a money tree would work. I have a hard time keeping plant life alive - so something that's easy to maintain is perfect for me.

  3. Beautiful, Cassie! My sister and I are headed to Ikea-three hours away-on Friday and this is on the top of her list! Maybe I'll add it to mine, too. :) Do you plan to keep it in the original plastic pot or does it need to be repotted? I'm never sure if it's ok to leave it in those or not. I can't believe how much it's grown, either!

  9. So cute! I love small details like that, they are just as important as the big stuff! I just redid my laundry room and curtain. Every time I walk in it makes me smile..it's the little things

  11. Cute! I haven't been shopping in awhile but I love cheap, cute jewelry (Cato's is the best!) and fun accessories for the home. Recently my grandmother has been getting rid of some of her stuff and I'm the lucky owner of a vintage globe, her coffee table (with four pie shaped chairs that slide under) and some other stuff. That counts, right?! I finally got the joy of going to IKEA for the first time earlier this month and their cheap flower pots and adorable rug for my daughter's room won me over!

  12. It looks so money! I'm so so sorry...that was bad, but I couldn't resist. Seriously, I love the rug and the artwork too. I might have to invest in a money tree b/c my fig is not doing well either. It was infested with bugs and now it has flourescent yellow mushrooms growing at the base. Gross! I'm almost tempted to throw it out.

Your comments are like crack, or popcorn with milk duds, I just can't quit them. xoxo, cass
