{DIY} Gilded Business Cards

I can't believe August is actually here, and tomorrow I fly to Atlanta for the Haven Conference! I'm so excited to meet favorite bloggers from all over, and speak about the greatness of #SocialMedia. (You like what I did there?) Not to mention, pick up some great new design, photography and DIY skills!

I've been blogging for over three years (wha?!) and never felt the need for business cards, since I don't consider my creative space (i.e. this blog) a business. But the essence of conferences is to meet others, and swap information so you can further the relationship...thus, my need for 'business' cards.

The adorable Pam of Pixelimpress created them for me...and I could not be happier. Of course I can never leave well-enough alone, so I had to Liberace them up a bit. You aren't surprised though, are you?

Hi Sugarplum | DIY Gilded Business Cards

I got the idea from Camille, but used a different method. After trying craft paint, Sharpies, and Rub 'n Buff, I settled on a Krylon gold leaf pen.

{Field Trip} Pottery Barn Outlet

Last week I talked about eating being one of the joys of traveling (see our Nashville restaurant faves here). Another would definitely be finding stores not in your hometown. There are only a small handful of Pottery Barn Outlet stores, so when we came across one in Memphis, I had to stop. Judging from the reaction I got on InstaGram, most of you would, too!

Pottery Barn's Outlet stores feature mostly current and last-season's catalog items, but priced up to 40% off. It is not a line made exclusively for the outlet stores. The inventory is a combination of new items, online returns (up to 60% off, and sold as-is), and those items that are in jeopardy of selling-out online. True you don't have drool-worthy displays like the traditional stores, but you can walk out with some good deals.

Let's take a stroll through the store, shall we? I'll let the pictures do the talking...

{DIY} Easy Outdoor Light

Hi friends! I hope you enjoyed the last weekend in July! Can you even believe how fast the Summer has flown by?! We have exactly four weeks left until school starts, and I intend to squeeze every last drop out of it. Which means we're spending a lot of time in the backyard...swimming during the day, and dinners at night.

We've already spruced up the patio area (thanks to the Home Depot Challenge), but we needed some ambiance in the evenings...so I whipped up a little light fixture using items we had laying around the house.

Hi Sugarplum | DIY Outdoor Light

This metal fixture has been collecting rust dust in our shed for years, and was just begging for some spraypaint. Actually, unfortunately for them, most items that cross my path are begging for spraypaint.

Hi Sugarplum | DIY Outdoor Light

After a good power-washing, I chose this raspberry shade, leftover from the Herringbone Basket project, and gave the fixture a few quick layers. Since I'm not using the candle holders, I removed them (after taking this pic) by bending them back and forth until they broke off. I'm sure I was risking tetanus with that brilliant idea.

The Friday Five

Heeeeeey, it's Friday!! Aren't you so excited for the weekend?! Our son gets home from camp today, only to ship off again on Sunday. I swear, I want to be him when I grow up. So we'll be loving on him the short time he's home...and with Haven next week, I guess it's time to start panicking about what to pack.

My Nordstrom Anniversary Sale loot arrived this week (yay for free shipping and free returns!), and while I won't be taking any of it on my trip (have you been to Atlanta in August?!), I thought I'd give you real-life reviews in case you were considering any of my favorites I posted about here.

First up, do you have any idea how awkward it is to take a picture of your own butt? And how awkward it is to post that butt pic on the internet?! I'm doing this for you, people, so be kind! And yes, my mirror is dirty.

1) First up are the Kut from the Kloth Natalie bootcut jeans. I love the back pockets, they have a touch of stretch for a comfy fit, there's no gap in the back waistband (you booty girls know what I'm talking about), and the length doesn't require hemming if I wear heels. I'm on the fence about the large stitching, but for $60, I might get over it. I'll still wear my skinny jeans this Fall, but I think a slight bootcut is a bit dressier, and more flattering on curvy shapes.

Hi Sugarplum | Nordstrom Anniversary Sale haul

2) Next are 7 For All Mankind Lexie Kimmie bootcut. Lexie is their petite line, which is great for shorter girls because they don't need hemming. Nordstrom offers free alterations, but they'd just cut the bottom off, which changes the line of the jeans and where they are supposed to hit on your leg. By going with this shorter length, the bootcut starts at the right placement on my leg.

Hi Sugarplum | Nordstrom Anniversary Sale haul
I'm wearing my favorite wedges this Summer...found here.

Here's the back...which are kind of tight now, but in my experience with Seven's, they stretch quite a bit. They are also a little higher on the waist, so there's no muffin-top. #halleluiah If you're looking for designer jeans, now is the time to get them because these are $70 off.

Hi Sugarplum | Nordstrom Anniversary Sale haul

3) I showed you the Cotton Cargo Jacket last week, and it's still my favorite score of the sale. The pic above shows the back with the cute ruffle. I can't wait to throw it over skirts, jeans, and dresses once the weather cools a bit. It's found in the Girl's Department, so it's good and fitted for wearing as an accent piece.

Hi Sugarplum | Nordstrom Anniversary Sale haul

4) Next up is the Devlin Pleated Skirt. It comes in black, pink and emerald green....shocker that I ordered it in black, I know! I don't even know how to describe the fabric and feel, but it's quite heavy, and the waistband is super stretchy. I think the poofy shape is fun, but the length is a little short for my age thighs taste. It'd be so cute with black tights...and it has a real couture feel to it.

Hi Sugarplum | Nordstrom Anniversary Sale haul

5) Finally, the Clark's Rosepoint Dew Booties. I ordered the Dark Brown Suede, but these are most definitely charcoal. So I'm not sure if the color is misrepresented online, or if they sent me the wrong pair. They are crazy comfy, and the wedge makes them super easy to walk in. I followed the reviewer's advice and ordered a half-size down, and they fit great. If you're looking for a cheaper, sexier bootie (TWSS), I love the Halogen Katrina...the backs are so cool, too!

Hi Sugarplum | Nordstrom Anniversary Sale haul

I also hit up the Kid's Shoe Department....I always buy school shoes during the sale because they are great quality shoes, but at affordable prices. Babygirl got these funky Chuck Taylors, and these striped Adidias (I really loved these Sperry Top Siders, too), and my son got these LunarGlides. Nikes for $56?!? That's crazy-talk.

What are your faves? Did you grab anything from the sale? Happy weekend, lovebugs!

{Eat} Nashville

If you've been reading this blog for any length of time, you've probably discovered I like to eat. Being hungry is one of my favorite things, because that means I get to eat again. And eating is definitely one of the best things about traveling.

So when we visited Nashville a few weeks ago, we hit up all our old regular spots, but were also introduced to some amazing new places. If you're ever in the area, add these to your list!

More than just a burger joint in a trendy neighborhood.
They source as much of the menu as possible from local farms, that treat their animals well.
They say knowing where your food comes from makes it taste better.
They must be right.

Untitled

The trendy interior is full of cool touches, like reclaimed wood that belonged to the owner's grandfather, and vintage bar towels used as napkins.
And kid's menus taped to the inside of Dr. Seuss books.

Untitled

But the food is what won me over.
I dare say this was the best burger I've ever had.
The fact that it was covered with fried jalapenos and homemade pimento cheese probably had something to do with it.
Not to mention the truffle fries.
Mr. Sugarplum went the healthy route and had a Kale Citrus Salad.
He said it was amazing.
I took his word for it.

{Organized} Kitchen Counters

You guys sure know how to give a girl the big-head! Thank you so much for your sweet comments about my new haircut...they totally made my week. Many of you liked it so much you pinned it...that was kind of weird seeing my head pop up all over Pinterest!

Last week I sang the praises of our new Keurig, and showed you how we keep it all organized. But once that area was nice and tidy, I realized just how cluttered the corner next to the stove had become. Not for long though...this was the easiest, fastest organizing job I've done yet!

Hi Sugarplum | Organized Kitchen Counters

Like most of you probably do, I like to keep the frequently used utensils, oils and spices out for easy access. I started by using a small platter to contain the oils, and cute containers for the utensils.

Hi Sugarplum | Organized Kitchen Counters

But that collection continued to grow (especially after this trip, which I still haven't finished blogging about, by the way!), and pretty soon it was a cluttered mess.

{Hair Talk} Angled Piecey Bob

Hi friends, and happy Monday! I hope you had a fabulous weekend, that felt twice as long as it really was. Does that even make sense?! You know how some weekends feel longer than others, even though most all of them are only two days? I'm rambling. It's the bleach talking.

After all that teasing, I'm a little nervous to show you my new hairdo. Hopefully it's not a big anti-climactic womp-womp! My gorgeous friend we visited in Nashville, also happens to be a rockstar hair stylist. (Ever heard of Kelly Clarkson or Sheryl Crow?) And the perk of staying with her for a week, is a series of sessions in her chair until it's perfect. I think she nailed it...this haircut is so me, and I love it!

Hi Sugarplum | Angled Bob Haircut

I'll start from the beginning. Obviously, after a year of Mr. Sugarplum doing my color (yes, he really does...DIY all the way, baby), she needed to correct even out a few shades with a fat highlight. I got to satisfy my baby fix at the same time. She wasn't impressed.

 Untitled

My color was better, but we discovered my ends were jacked! A bad haircut (from someone in Texas), left me with uneven length, and wispy ends.

Here's a tip for you...unless you have Amanda-Seyfried-hair (I do not), NEVER let anyone texturize or 'take the weight out' of your hair. It's fancy talk for combing a razor through your hair, removing half of it...essentially f#%ing you up! Your ponytail will look like toddler-hair if you do. Exhibit A:

{Style Finds} Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Happy Friday!! I'm so excited for a weekend at home...with nothing to do, and nowhere to be! As much fun as we had on our road-trip, nothing beats a lazy day at home. It's been awhile since I've created something, too, so maybe the downtime will be inspiring.

My inbox is flooded on a daily basis with sales, but very few peak my interest. However, there is one sale I look forward to every year...the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! I love it because it's not picked-over, end-of-season stuff...but next season's must-haves...and for a few short weeks, it's marked down by 33%!

The inventory at the stores is limited, and runs out quickly, so I usually preview it there, then order online (free shipping and free returns!). I lean towards wardrobe staples, like jeans ($70 off!) and shoes, since they are the best deals. These are are a few of my favorites...

The jacket is actually from the Kid's Department, but since those sizes go up to 16, occasionally I find little gems for a lot less than the Woman's version. Sometimes the sleeves are too short, but with jackets that's easily remedied by cuffing them. Check out the back of this jacket, too. Ca-Ute!

Untitled
I'm wearing the Kids L (10-12)

The booties at $65 were too good to pass up. They'll add a touch of funky to skirts and jeans.

Untitled

I also get the kids school shoes during this sale...at these prices, they aren't much more than Target's shoes, but they'll actually last the entire school year! My son is all about the over-priced Nikes now, so I was thrilled to find these for only $55. Little Miss usually goes pretty colorful...not sure where she gets it.

Untitled
$25 Converse!

It's a hefty splurge, but it only happens once a year, and you can't beat Nordstrom quality and service. Do you shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale? What do you have your eye on? Don't dawdle, the prices go back up August 5. Happy weekend, lovebugs!

{Smitten} Keurig, Where Have You Been All My Life?!

While the big purchases can be nauseating exciting, it's the little things that make my heart race. Small touches, like a new throw pillow, basket planter, or magazine rack, can make all the difference in a room. And it always seems to be those little things (I'm talking about you, pretty books!) that bring me the most joy. My latest object of affection isn't necessarily cheap, but it's life-changing!

Remember when I showed you our cute little coffee set-up? And waxed poetic about how much we love coffee and coffee time around here? Well, not one week later our Mr. Coffee ground to a halt. (You see what I did there? Punny, huh?)

Hi Sugarplum | Morning Coffee

I'd been dreaming of a Keurig, but it seemed like such an unnecessary luxury...especially since we had a perfectly good coffee maker. We went exactly one long day without a coffee maker before I started pricing new ones. I discovered a decent drip coffee maker wasn't much less than a basic Keurig. So we went for it!

Hi Sugarplum | Keurig love

How can such an insignificant Kitchen appliance be such a life-changer?! For starters, there's no more grinding beans, or spilled grounds...no cleaning the filter or rinsing the pot...no waiting for it to brew, or someone taking the last cup....and best of all, no more wondering if the Mister is going to make the coffee, or if I have to get up and do it! It's almost like vacation every morning...where someone else makes the coffee!

It's eliminated a lot of the coffee paraphernalia we had on the Kitchen counters, too. I rummaged up a cute candle-holder from the depths of my closet, and piled the K-cups in it. I like using something unexpected.

Hi Sugarplum | Keurig love

The rest of the K-cups are stored in the 'Breakfast' bin in our Pantry (still fully organized after 1 year, thankyouverymuch!).

IMG_0816

I love how clean it looks sitting on the counter, too. That cutest-mug-ever can be found here.

Hi Sugarplum | Keurig love

Okay, I realize I need to calm down because I'm sounding crazier than usual, but I love this thing! Smitten doesn't even come close! Are you having a love affair with a Keurig? Where do you keep all the K-cups?

Moments from a Family Road Trip

Well, the laundry is done and our fridge has food again, but I'm still not back in the real-world zone. I think that's the sign of a good vacation....I unplugged so completely, that I can't find my way back yet.

Time flies so quickly, it seems the kid's birthdays grow closer together every year. I'm desperate to make it stop, to freeze them at each delicious age. That's why it's even more important for me to step away from all those little things demanding my time, and focus on the people who's time in my home is fleeting.

Last week, the three of us left computers, video games, and distractions behind, and loaded the car for our best friends in Nashville. We moseyed our way there, and spent nights in Memphis and Little Rock, with a lot of adventure in between.

I made a point to say, 'Sure!' as much as I could. That resulted in lots of fast food stops.

Monday Already?!

Hey, hey, hey!! We are back home after an amazing week spent together, and with dear friends. Not only did we drive cross-country, but we ate our way there. And ate even more while in Nashville! But gaining 5 pounds is what vacations are all about, right?!

Vacations are also about the laundry, empty fridge, and dead houseplants you come home to. Oh yeah, and a looming deadline for our Haven presentation! *gulp*

I have all kinds of fun stuff to share with you, like details of our trip...

Untitled

Some amazing restaurants you must check out if you ever find yourself in Nashville...

Untitled
How you doin', homemade pimento cheese & fried jalapenos on a burger!?

My sassy new 'do....oh yes, I chopped it ALL!

Untitled

Not to mention some little projects I've done around the house recently. But all that will have to wait until I've dug myself out of the laundry heap, stocked my fridge, caught up at work...and oh yeah, finish that Haven presentation with Courtney, Megan, and Carmel!! I can't believe the conference is weeks away....I'm so excited!

How was your weekend?!

{20 Questions} Designer Bags & Dirty Diapers

I don't know how and when I started reading Designer Bags & Dirty Diapers, but I remember Natalie grabbed me that very first visit, and hasn't let go since. I just knew she was someone I wanted to know, and desperately wished we lived in the same town. She is effortlessly cool and stylish, an amazing cook, and lives in charming Charleston with her adorable (expanding!) family.

20 questions natalie

What is your road trip essential snack?
This is a tough one but I am usually one for salty treats on a road trip- I love Cheese-its, Pringles (the jalapeno kind is my fav), and Gold fish. Also it is probably considered more of a meal than a snack but I almost always hit up Chick-Fil-A on my road trips. I love me a fried chicken sandwich.

via @snoopnattynat InstaGram

You've been handed two free round-trip tickets...who are you taking and where are you going?
Napa and taking the Hubs because duh, I want to go drink delicious wine all week. I am seriously dying to get out to Napa and do a vineyard tour one day.

What was your high school jam?
Dave Matthews Band Crash Into You, kind of makes me cringe now because it was my high school boyfriend and my song.

Would you rather have a perfect bum, or a flawless face?
Flawless face because you can always exercise and work on your bum but there ain't much help for a busted face.

http://distilleryimage1.s3.amazonaws.com/0139b2ee9df711e2bbd422000a1f9ab2_7.jpg
Natalie's gorgeous face!

What shows are you ashamed to admit are on your DVR?
Wow my list is pretty long: Long Island Princesses, Married to Jonas, Don't Be Tardy, all of the Housewives. Pretty much any reality TV show that you wonder who watches it, I do.

What's your ringtone?
So lame but it is the standard ring my phone came with. I used to have Justin Timberlake's Sexy Back a few years ago when I worked and my boss asked me to take it off (no idea why, Sexy Back is so professional, right?) anyways after that I never changed it. When my husband calls it does play "I love it when you call me Big Poppa."

How old were you when you had your first kiss? Was it meh or toe-curling?
Hmm I think I was probably 12-13, and it was the Summer before 8th grade. Totally meh.

Do you have any siblings, and if so, where are you in the birth order?
Yes a brother and a sister. I am first born, then my sister is two years younger than me and my brother is the baby and 5 years younger than me.

What physical quirk were you born with?
One eye with blond eye lashes and one eye with black eyelashes. I always have to have mascara on!

What was your first car, and did you name it?
I had a bright red Buick Skylark, such a classy little car and it was stick shift, which I am still super proud I knew how to drive. Her name was Sally The Skylark.

What would you request for your last supper?
Probably Mexican food and a whole platter of it. I am talking cheese dip, salsa, guacamole, tacos, enchiladas, nachos- the works!

"A delicious selection of Mexican food." Learn more about Mexico, its business, culture and food by joining ANZMEX http://www.anzmex.org.au OR like our facebook page http://www.facebook.com/ANZMEX

Have you ever been hospitalized, and if so, what for?
Only when I had my son Sterling. Which is a good thing I get serious anxiety around hospitals.

http://distilleryimage3.s3.amazonaws.com/86e18ccee58111e290d522000a1fb852_7.jpg
Natalie's adorable boy, via @snoopnattynat InstaGram

How tall are you? Do you wish you were taller, shorter...or are you just right?
5'9. Growing up I always wished I was shorter because I towered over all the boys and I felt like they always asked the shorter girls out because who wants to date a giant?? Now I would not change a thing, I love my height and being tall.

Do you prefer to DIY or hire it out?
Hire it out for sure. Although many times I attempt to do it myself to save money but if I had unlimited resources I would most def hire everything out!

What do you eat for breakfast?
Usually cereal (this week I am loving the Cheerios Melody Crucnh) or Greek Yogurt with honey, fruit and granola.

What would you do for a living if you didn't need money?
I would really love to be a personal shopper or stylist

http://distilleryimage0.s3.amazonaws.com/bfabc6d4de7211e2b4bf22000aa80174_7.jpg
Natalie is a wizard at finding great stuff!

Finish this sentence: Every room needs....
A tv- just kidding but not really. But in all honesty I like a mirror in every room, I feel like it really opens up the space!

How frequently do you wash your hair? Do you have any hair secrets or tricks?
About 2-3 times a week. I try to wash it every other day but if I can stretch longer I do. Wish I had some good tricks but I am clueless when it comes to hair. Two products I do love and swear by are the Suave Moroccan Oil and Oribe Texturizing Spray.

Will you leave the house without makeup?
Nope. I hate going anywhere without make-up on. My husband always makes fun of me and says he can always tell when I am really sick because those are the only days I don't put make-up on. Even right after I had my son Sterling I showered and put on make-up. The nurses made fun of me saying, "Girl this ain't America's Next Top Model." I have make-up issues obviously. Alot of it relates to question number 9 and my serious under eye circles.

You just unloaded your Halloween haul...what candy do you go for first?
Reeses Cups, Then Kit Kats

* * * * *

I'd definitely be sharing that Mexican feast with her! And I'm sure we'd toss back a margarita or three.
I hope you've enjoyed this latest round of {20 Questions} and getting to know your favorite bloggers, and even discovered some new ones! What other bloggers would you like to see in this series?

We're on the road today, heading back to Texas, and I have a glorious new do!!
Can't wait to show you guys, and the projects we've been up to.
Happy weekend, lovebugs!

{20 Questions} Centsational Girl

The Centsational Girl needs no introduction, and certainly not from me! Kate has been cranking out stunning projects day-after-day on her beautiful blog for years. I can't tell you how many times I've consulted her tutorials before starting a project. You want to build a drying rack, paint laminate furniture, or beef-up inexpensive bookcases? Kate's done it. And she's made it even easier for us by assembling a Best of DIY page, with over 1,000 projects as inspiration and guides. Let's get to know this blogging wizard a little better!

20 questions Kate

What is your road trip essential snack?
Snacks, plural! Pretzels, grapes, trail mix with M&Ms, dried apricots, and Vitamin water.

You've been handed two free round-trip tickets...who are you taking and where are you going?
Greece and my man. Does it have to be round trip? Can it be one way?

greece coastline

What was your high school jam?
Paula Abdul's "Opposites Attract" - I did a cheerleading routine with the mascot on the basketball court. I fear the day that video surfaces.

Would you rather have a perfect bum, or a flawless face?
Face.

What shows are you ashamed to admit are on your DVR?
We're that weird family because we don't have cable so I'm always a season or four behind. I'm still stuck in Season 2 of Lost *hangs head in shame*.

What's your ringtone?
I have several, but my two favorites are my sister's Downton Abbey Theme and my brother's "I got a fever, and the prescription is more cowbell"

How old were you when you had your first kiss? Was it meh or toe-curling?
8th grade, totally icky, I had forgotten but now the memories are reeling back, ew.

Do you have any siblings, and if so, where are you in the birth order?
Big brother Tim, me, little bro Nathan and baby sister Amelie. No one on earth makes me laugh harder than those three people.

What physical quirk were you born with?
A widow's peak that I disguise 24/7 with a clever part.

What was your first car, and did you name it?
I was rollin' down the street in light blue Honda Civic baby, 1985.model, sweet! (not)

kates blue civic

What would you request for your last supper?
My mom's scalloped potatoes, a glass or two of Chateau St. Jean Cinq Cepages 2005 red blend, and a bowl of triple chocolate ice cream.

Have you ever been hospitalized, and if so, what for?
Just for the baby births, consider me lucky!

How tall are you? Do you wish you were taller, shorter...or are you just right?
I'm all of 5'2 ½ (gotta add the half) when bare-footed, but wear heels when out and about just so I can look at people at eye level.

Do you prefer to DIY or hire it out?
Mostly DIY unless it's intense labor that would break me or is beyond my skillz.

What do you eat for breakfast?
Coffee.
And sometimes a smoothie, or a piece of toast. I'm not a big breakfast gal.

coffee for breakfast

What would you do for a living if you didn't need money?
Design fabric in all styles and colorways, from mod to trad.

Finish this sentence: Every room needs....
a great light fixture, a touch of black or dark wood, and something living (pet, person, or plant).

brass fixture black console
design by Kerrisdale design

How frequently do you wash your hair? Do you have any hair secrets or tricks?
Three times a week (or after I run) and I swear by dry shampoo. I have long hair which I think is ten times easier than short hair to style each day. Two words: pony and tail.

Will you leave the house without makeup?
My daily routine is tinted moisturizer and Burt's Bee's lipgloss in Raisin, it takes too much effort to do more. Unless it's date night or girl's night out.

You just unloaded your Halloween haul...what candy do you go for first?
Is this really a question? Is there even a contender? Twix.

What totally inane talent do you possess?
I am fierce in tetherball, just ask my second and fourth grade kids. I show no mercy. :)

* * * * *

Okay, I've scoured You Tube for Kate's Paula Abdul dance, with no luck. I'd pay 100 Twix bars to see that! And maybe cutting cable is the trick to accomplishing more projects! But I'll have to wait until this final season of Dexter is over. And Breaking Bad. I can't live without my psychopath serial killers!

{20 Questions} The Hunted Interior

Kristin at The Hunted Interior has quickly become one of my favorite bloggers, and blogs. Her DIY skills are mind-blowing...and I don't mean she makes her own curatins (which she does), but I mean she DIYs her own live-edge tables and builds console tables from scratch. And then she paints that table chartreuse, which makes me love her even more. Don't even get me started on the Hello Kitty party she just threw her daughter. I know you'll love Kristin as much as I do!

20 questions kristin

What is your road trip essential snack?
Twizzlers. Only the strawberry ones though. Ain't nobody got time for those cherry ones!

You've been handed two free round-trip tickets...who are you taking and where are you going?
The hubs & I are off to Bora Bora for sure! And if hotel accommodations are included we are staying at the Four Seasons. I've been dreaming of these bungalows for years!!

via

What was your high school jam?
Anything Britney Spears. Saw her three times in high school. Memorized every dance step from every video & can still whip them out to this day.

Would you rather have a perfect bum, or a flawless face?
Flawless face! You can always wear spanxx.

What shows are you ashamed to admit are on your DVR?
I have all the reality junk we all love, but I am a big Pretty Little Liars fan. It's bad teenage drama at its finest. Plus I love Hannah's house. Moving in.

What's your ringtone?
Always on vibrate. No wakey the baby!! My hubs is the only special ringtone I have which is Ray LaMontagne's "You Are the Best Thing" (our wedding song, to which our minister said "Ray LaMontagne Nice" in his best surfer voice!)

How old were you when you had your first kiss? Was it meh or toe-curling?
I was 12. Meh. He was gay. (Happened twice to me!) Finally learned to stop dating the boys in dance class.

Do you have any siblings, and if so, where are you in the birth order?
By big brother is actually 13 years older than me. He's one if my best friends though.

What physical quirk were you born with?
I can shake my eyeballs. Weird.

What was your first car, and did you name it?
A 2001 Black Mazda Protege Sport. No name...

What would you request for your last supper?
Honestly, I don't know!? My husband is the cook in the family & spoils me with his culinary creations on a weekly basis. Okay... Maybe I would eat only cupcakes & cheesecake as my last meal.

Have you ever been hospitalized, and if so, what for?
Just for the bambino... But that ended up being five days of inducing fun. (Enter sarcasm here)

How tall are you? Do you wish you were taller, shorter...or are you just right?
I am 5'9"... Wish I was a tad shorter so I could wear those uber high heels without towering over everyone else.

Do you prefer to DIY or hire it out?
DIY. Duh.

Kristin freaking made this!

What do you eat for breakfast?
Whatever my daughter doesn't eat & a Citrus Energy Crystal Light. Uber healthy I know, but don't mess with me until I have that in my system.

What would you do for a living if you didn't need money?
What I'm doing right now. I love being an Interior Designer! I would probably be building custom homes from scratch though if money was no issue.

Finish this sentence: Every room needs....

How frequently do you wash your hair? Do you have any hair secrets or tricks?
Everyday. I have tried the no washing stuff & my hair just can't handle it. I have stopped using conditioner on a daily basis though. It's really added some body to it.

Will you leave the house without makeup?
Pre baby. NO WAY!! Now. Eh... Who am I trying to impress?

You just unloaded your Halloween haul...what candy do you go for first?
Twix Bars.

What totally inane talent do you possess?
The ability to memorize a song immediately after hearing it. My mind is like an iTunes library & pretty much nothing else.

Are you as surprised by how gloriously tall these bloggers are?! I guess since I'm a shrimpie, that's something I'm drawn to. What I'd love to see, is Kristin perform a Britney Spears routine, while shaking her eyeballs! Now that's impressive.
